About

I’m Dr. Daniel Clay McPherson, or “Dr. Dan”, and I founded DMcPherson Consulting to provide the kind of care I wish everyone could experience.

After dealing with my own back and shoulder injury, and experiencing both excellent and subpar physical therapy, I realized that outcomes depend as much on the relationship and individualized attention as they do on technical knowledge.

My practice combines clinical expertise with a genuine understanding of what it takes to get back to the activities you care about – whether that’s competitive sport, daily life, or somewhere in between.

Daniel McPherson, PT, DPT, CSCS, CTPS
Doctor of Physical Therapy | PhD Student, USC Biokinesiology

My approach to movement is built on a decade-long trajectory through nearly every facet of human performance and rehabilitation. I began my career as a U.S. Army veteran and certified fitness trainer, where I learned the discipline and adaptability required to drive results in high-pressure environments.

This foundation led me through a diverse clinical journey that spans the entire spectrum of the human experience:
Elite Performance: Working in the athletic training room with Temple University Football and along side physical therapists and athletic trainers at the University of Southern California allowed me to see the peak of human physical performance.
Complex Rehabilitation: Implementing integrated rehabilitation strategies (blood flow restriction training, adaptive sports, and functional training) for individuals with spinal cord injuries at QLI Omaha taught me to consider the human, and their support system, to enhance functional outcomes.
Orthopedic Excellence: I have years of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant and now a Physical Therapist, specializing in movement informed decision making.
Health System Consultation: I serve as a clinician scientist within a health system with 30 physical therapy clinics where I assist in integrating scientific evidence into clinical practice to enhance function and reduce disability.

Whether you are a tennis athlete looking for a competitive edge, a patient recovering from a major surgery, or an individual simply looking to move without pain, I bring this integrated perspective to your journey. By blending my background in strength and conditioning with clinical research and orthopedic physical therapy, I create a person-centered roadmap that treats you as an athlete first – regardless of your starting point.
